Junior High Graduation

Yesterday Cody graduated from Marsh Junior High. We are so very proud of him. He worked so hard this past year maintaining a 4.0 gpa and we were tickled when he was recommended for honors English in high school. The significance of this is now he is eligible for the International Baccalaureat Program, which makes getting scholarships and accepted at excellent universities more likely.
Graduation at Marsh is a "bring your own chair" affair. It's a bit of a scramble to pick the most advantageous spot and luckily we found a spot right next to the boy graduates.
This is Cody as he lines up to get his diploma. He's really grown tall these past few months. He almost looks me in the eye and I'm 5 foot 10 inches! He's going to be a tall one.

He just received his diploma from the principal (on the left) Mr. Piluso. Watch your step! You don't want to fall in front of all these people.
Cody finally found us among the hundreds of people after turning in his graduation gown.
You can see that he's almost as tall as me. I asked him where he wanted us to take him for lunch and he picked Burger Hut. A local burger joint that has the best build your own burgers. Excellent choice if I say so myself.
You can see that Dan wore a long sleeved shirt. It has been unseasonably cool for the first of June. That global warming is just killing us up here....NOT.
Here is Cody with his best friend Thomas. They've been together since first grade and they will be going to the same high school next year. It is amazing to see how these boys are slowly changing into wonderful young men. Later we went to Burger Hut and Cody had a double cheeseburger, seasoned french fries, and a rootbeer float. We gave him is graduation gift and told him how incredibly proud we are of him.
